When you hear something that seems like a good idea for a song do you write it down immediately, or let it simmer in your mind?
Immediately if possible. I have a folder called "Ideas." I have dozens and dozens of ideas started there. Certainly not all of them will become songs. But I try never to take the idea for granted. Even if something comes at 3am, I tend to get out of bed to record it or write it down. They don't always manifest in great songs, but the song gods always seem to throw some kind of reward our way when we make the effort.
Not really a question. remembering your sensitive post a year ago after the Paris killings we think of all you american friends in this election daze. Watching the "I'am your man" documentary yesterday was a great moment of relief.Mare Wakefield & Nomad responded on 11/28/2016 Next question
So many of your songs create mental images. Do you see mind pictures of some of them as you are writing the lyrics? Does the melody ever create images on it's own?Mare Wakefield & Nomad responded on 11/28/2016
